My machine is only about a year old and yesterday it suddenly started making a clicking sound while stitching. It still runs, but the sound wasn't there before and I don't want to damage something by continuing to use it.

A new sound that wasn't there before is always worth paying attention to, Anitha — machines don't usually start clicking for no reason. Before you sew on it again, check around the needle, the presser foot, and the bobbin area for anything that's come slightly loose or caught. That's the most common cause of a sudden noise like this. If the sound is still there afterwards, especially with any vibration or a change in your stitch quality, it's safer to get it serviced than to keep using it and hope it settles down. A small check now saves you a much bigger repair later.
