My machine was completely fine last week, but now it is missing stitches every few inches. I am using cotton fabric and I have already rethreaded it twice, but the problem is still there. I have an order to finish this week and I'm getting worried.
ONSA's Answer
An order deadline makes a problem like this feel much bigger than it usually is, Geetha, so let's take it step by step. First, check that your needle is the right type for cotton and sitting straight — a needle that's even slightly bent will cause exactly this. Rethread the top and the bobbin properly, slowly this time rather than quickly. If a completely fresh needle still doesn't fix it, that's the point to stop sewing on it and get it checked, rather than pushing through and risking the fabric you're working on. Most of the time, it really is just the needle.
